Hoof and Paw - EMOTIONAL HEALING FOR ANIMALS
HELPFUL BACH FLOWER TIPS!

fireworksHALLOWEEN AND FIREWORKS NIGHT

This is an extremely stressful time for a lot of animals who are terrified of the loud bangs and flashing lights. It can cause the animal to be anxious, fearful and terrified and be in a state of extreme panic. Bonfires, fireworks and animals do not mix. Always be alert and keep you animals indoors. Close the curtains to hide the flashing lights and leave the T.V on to mask the noise of fireworks.

Help is on hand with Rescue Remedy. The distinct 'little yellow bottle' is the only combination remedy formulated by Dr Edward Bach over 70 years ago. He formulated it, to deal with the immediate effects of sudden crises and emergencies. Rescue Remedy can really make a difference to the emotional welfare of your animal.

The normal dose for Rescue Remedy is 4 drops 4 times a day. However due to the stressful period around Halloween and fireworks night, by starting a few days before and increasing the frequency of the dose. This will really help your animal to cope during this traumatic time. The drops can be put on treats, food, drinking water etc.

Rescue Remedy is a way of getting through the immediate effects of a crisis. It isn't a cure-all and if you keep finding yourself reaching for Rescue Remedy for your animal you may need to look at why they are always like this in times of stress. Dr Edward Bach believed in treating everyone as an 'individual'. Perhaps use this time to look at the individual remedies and how each one can help different animal behaviours. You will be amazed!  It will also give you confidence in choosing a remedy for both you and your animal.

CHRISTMAS

Christmas is a time of celebration and joy. Within your family your home starts to buzz with anticipation and excitement.  Although many animals  find this period  to be very exciting.  Some find it to be very stressful.  Many homes have family visiting from near and far.  This brings new smells and challenges for the animals who may find change more difficult. Remedies to consider during this time include: Mimulus - The remedy for known fears. This could be fear of strangers (even Father Christmas!) Walnut - This is the remedy for change and will truly make a difference to help your animal to adapt to the comings and goings of guests and family. If you are knee high in turkey trimmings and trying to prepare a bumptious meal for your guests and  your cat or dog is possessive of your attention consider Chicory. For animals who have been lovingly re-homed from a Rescue Centre - where their past is unknown and their anxiety seems to be growing during the Christmas period.  Consider Star of Bethlehem as this remedy restores mental and emotional calmness.  I have found Honeysuckle to be especially powerful where an animals past is unknown especially if cruelty is suspected. This remedy restores adjustment to their present circumstances.  As always Rescue Remedy is the 'star' combination remedy to help relieve stress.

For best results start using the remedies early.  The remedies can be added to treats, drinking water and meals. If you need anymore help please contact me through my comments box.
